Maintaining Your Silk Press: Tips for Long-Lasting Results Part 2

You've put in the effort to get your silk press just right. How do you make it last longer without applying too much heat or none at all? While there is no one-size-fits-all approach, here are a few tips to consider:

Avoid Humidity: Did you know that the humidity level can cause your hair to swell? Check your local weather app before you head out to ensure that the humidity level is below 51%.

Avoid Water and Steam: When it's time to shower, make sure to securely wrap your hair. Use a silk/satin scarf and a shower cap to avoid steam getting underneath the cap, and another silk scarf on top if necessary.

Wrap Your Hair: Wrapping your hair while lounging or sleeping can help avoid friction with blankets or pillows that may damage your hair.

Reduce Heat and Styling: Using too much heat on your hair can cause it to lose its curl pattern. Try bantu knots or wrapping your hair instead to help produce curls and use products to keep hair hydrated and frizz-free. Lightly spray heat protectant before wrapping your hair to control frizz.

These few tips can help your silk press last a few days - a week longer. Let me know if these worked for you!
