Decorate for FALL on a Budget

Is it just me or does the mood shift when your environment changes?? As an 8 month homeowner, I couldn’t wait to decorate my house, and quickly found out seasonal decorating can be expensive. Here are some things I learned that will help me in the future when decorating.

Always Budget

Setting a budget for ANYTHING is important, but I didn’t budget for decorating for seasonal items. I just knew I wanted to do something minimal to spruce up downstairs to give me all the Fall vibes (my favorite time of year). Although I didn’t budget I was very intentional about what stores I shopped in and which stores I went to first. I ended up spending about $100.00 and two of the more expensive items equaled out to $31.98 that can be used interchangeably all the time.

Research/Plan

I don’t have a huge living space downstairs and I knew that I wanted minimal decorations so it wouldn’t look cluttered or overbearing. Plus I don’t have many visitors besides my immediate family from time to time and a couple of friends here and there. So really, who am I trying to impress? I wanted to be pleased and I achieved that. Of course I went to Pinterest and looked up ideas and did some additional research and decided what was best for me would be small items (maybe one or two larger items) and what store would be better than the Dollar Tree, Big Lots, Homegoods and a new place I wanted to try Fayetteville Wholesalers. I found everything I needed in those four places.

Set the Tone

After you have what you need, it’s time to set the tone in your home and start to decorate. The beautiful part is you can arrange and rearrange as much as you like until you have it as unique as possible to your standards and liking.
